Nur Salam and Malaysia Think Tank are establishing Wau Bebas School, a private, nonprofit school for primary students from all backgrounds, including those students who are stateless or refugees; thus they are not able to attend government schools.

Our aim is to raise RM6,000 to add colour and bring life to school.

The kindergarten, which is under renovation, needs to raise funds for paint brushers, rollers, trays and other paint supplies worth RM3,000.

In addition to that, the kindergarten also needs to be equipped with white boards, book shelves, stationary and art supplies before it opens for operation, which is all worth RM3,000.

Buying a heart for this cause would help us furnish the kindergarten with proper tools and stationary and make it cheerful for the kids .
Amount to be Raised  :  RM 6,000

Organization Overview : Nur Salam and Malaysia Think Tank are establishing Wau Bebas School, a private, nonprofit school for primary students from all backgrounds, including those students who are stateless or refugees; thus they are not able to attend government schools.
Mission : Wau Bebas School will be a model centre for providing quality preschool education to urban poor children who are at risk and who have no access to any form of education.
Objectives : The school should be fully credentialed and academically strong to attract "regular" Malaysian children, although priority will be given to stateless and refugee children. The long term goal is for students to pass the government exams and have access to mainstream education, whether be it in public or private schools.
History : Nur Salam grew out of a collaboration between Pusat Aktiviti Kanak-Kanak (PAKK) Chow Kit, which was under the Department of Welfare (Wilayah), and Yayasan Salam Malaysia. PAKK was originally a day care centre following the national model, but the needs of Chow Kit were not adequately served by a centre open only from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The collaboration with Yayasan Salam allowed the centre to be open 24 hours every day, and to provide programs for all children in and around the Chow Kit area. The expanded centre is now known as Nur Salam, with PAKK a key partner.Malaysia Think Tank was established in 2006 to address issues of public concern through research and policy proposals. Malaysia Think Tank provides a platform where Malaysians of all ethnic and religious backgrounds can advance the ideals of liberty and justice espoused in the Proclamation of Independence and the Federal Constitution. The education of disadvantaged children is in keeping with these ideals.
